Objective April 23rd
Need to take final images and make sure I have got my interview with EmmaJo complete over the weekend.
Taking good quality pictures
One thing I have had to look at in detail is making sure when I take a photo its a good quality one. This is important in making it look as professional as possible because a professional magazine doesn't have blury pictures or shots that are cluttered.

Also making sure the lighting is right is also very important because on my first take at taking pictures the lighting was far too strong which it impossible to see the face of the person. This is not professional
The second try was a much better success with the lighting. Now I just need to take the draft shots and make sure the shadow is not shown as much.
For my final pictures I need to make sure that they are animated and are actually doing something while looking at the camera.

Circulation figures Media terms
Media terms
Circulation - Means how many copies of each issue has been sold.
Readership - Means how many people actually read the copy. This could be when your friend has brought a magazine and you've read through their copy

Things I have learnt so far this week.
I am currently looking in to the lighting for images. I have to make sure I get the right lighting for my front cover imagine. If not the picture may seem blurred and I have to make the picture as professional as possible

After looking at the Bauer as the dominating company it is valid to say that they have taken control of the UK’s advertising market. It has a large range of different magazine styles from home style to music magazines style. There are different types of music magazines they produce. Including Kerrang, Mojo and Q. These are the most well known magazines and are well respected in the music magazine industry. These were all made well known with the help from Bauer advertising those magazines to meet their demographic audience in the form of an “Imaginary Entity” and Ien Ang has made clear. Music magazines are funded mainly through advertising and are doing this to lore readers in to their magazine with album/artist reviews etc.
“Bauer Verlagsgruppe is managed by four generations of the Bauer family. The Bauer Publishing Group has grown into a worldwide publishing company. The Bauer Publishing Group comprises 238 magazines worldwide in 15 countries, as well as TV and radio stations.”Resource taken from Wikipedia.org – Bauer Media Company
The main magazine that is published in the UK through Bauer is Q and this magazine was first published in 1986. The Magazine was at first going to be named “Cue” as in after the act of cueing a record to play but the name was dropped because it could have been seen for a snooker magazine and Q was finally settled with.
The logo was made to look simple but can stand out easily for its simplex looking
The magazine has always been known for using a simple design on the front cover by not having it cluttered in anyway. While this is seen as a simple looking design its now become a well known house hold nam
Kerrang
Kerrang is mainly seen as a rock magazine and is usually seen for writing about bands like AC/DC Iron maiden or Metallica. While this has changed over recent years with it becoming a lot more mainstream featuring bands like Greenday and Blink-182. While still keeping to there roots they have now branched out to a wider audience. The magazine only costs £2.20 which has made it become very popular for being a lot cheaper than its competition.
IPC Media
IPC Meida is a UK based magazine publisher company and they have become very popular over recent years with around 26 adults reading an IPC produced magazine.

Treatment
For my unit G321 foundation portfolio coursework, I intend to produce a music magazine aimed at teenagers.
I am making a magazine that is based around Punk rock music but will be more focused around the Pop Punk genre. This is mostly aimed around 15-22 year olds. The target audience is male and female. I will include both a male and a female in at least one of the pictures because when readers see it will portrait ideal self. This is where a person wishes they could be like them and usually try’s to copy their style. Because my magazine is aimed at mostly teenagers I will have to take in to consideration with the style of writing and bodylanguage on my magazine. My music will be a mainstream magazine which means it will be the form style of Kerrang which is also a popular mainstream magazine.
Front page
The front page will be a medium close up of the band I will be taking pictures of. The band has to have a Pop-Punk feel like I have demonstrated in my draft magazine. Pop-Punk music is mostly a happy sort of feel genre and when bands take from this genre are photographed in a place that reflects this. I will consider mise-en scene when I photo my pictures. I will use my friend’s band to photograph since they will be the best for this type of magazine.
Contents
The contents will remain unchanged from my final draft. I will just re position the photos I have taken myself and replace the placeholders.
Double page spread
The double page spread will be a large picture with writing possibly an interview for the final. I will have to take in to deep consideration what type of writing and bodylanguage I use because most teenagers will want to hear about their gig/party life. I will have to make sure its interesting enough to keep the readers interested or it wont fit in the style of the magazine
