Treatment

For my unit G321 foundation portfolio coursework, I intend to produce a music magazine aimed at teenagers.

I am making a magazine that is based around Punk rock music but will be more focused around the Pop Punk genre. This is mostly aimed around 15-22 year olds. The target audience is male and female. I will include both a male and a female in at least one of the pictures because when readers see it will portrait ideal self. This is where a person wishes they could be like them and usually try’s to copy their style. Because my magazine is aimed at mostly teenagers I will have to take in to consideration with the style of writing and bodylanguage on my magazine. My music will be a mainstream magazine which means it will be the form style of Kerrang which is also a popular mainstream magazine.

Front page

The front page will be a medium close up of the band I will be taking pictures of. The band has to have a Pop-Punk feel like I have demonstrated in my draft magazine. Pop-Punk music is mostly a happy sort of feel genre and when bands take from this genre are photographed in a place that reflects this. I will consider mise-en scene when I photo my pictures. I will use my friend’s band to photograph since they will be the best for this type of magazine.

Contents

The contents will remain unchanged from my final draft. I will just re position the photos I have taken myself and replace the placeholders.

Double page spread

The double page spread will be a large picture with writing possibly an interview for the final. I will have to take in to deep consideration what type of writing and bodylanguage I use because most teenagers will want to hear about their gig/party life. I will have to make sure its interesting enough to keep the readers interested or it wont fit in the style of the magazine
